At Least 89 People Remain Missing After Floods - Eastern Spain

The animal educator, María, at the Modepan shelter, on November 5, 2024, in Carlet, Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain. Today marks one week since the DANA devastated the Valencian Community. So far, there are 211 fatalities and considerable material damage in about 70 municipalities in the province of Valencia, from where even today they are still removing belongings, vehicles and water drainage. 98% of the electrical service has already been restored and 93% of the affected population already has water supply. Feria Valencia has assigned seven pavilions, its Events Center and its kitchens to various logistical and humanitarian tasks to fight against the effects of the DANA that has affected the Valencian Community. Sanfangqixiang, or the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, is a 40-hectare complex famous for its traditional urban fabric of lanes and alleys. The green slate walkways are lined by ancestral houses, featuring white walls and black tiles. Initially built in the Jin Dynasty (265-420), the neighborhood developed in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and the Five Dynasties (907-960), and thrived in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
