(230915) -- CHANGSHA, Sept. 15, 2023 (Xinhua) -- A virtual emcee introduces the 2023 World Computing Conference to audience at the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Computing Conference in Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, Sept. 15, 2023. The 2023 World Computing Conference kicked off in Changsha on Friday. The conference, with the theme of "Calculating the World to Create A New Era-New Changes in the Computing Industry", was organized by the Hunan provincial government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. TOKYO, Japan - Shingo Yamashiro (in this May 1997 file photo), an actor and TV emcee, died of pneumonia Aug. 12 at a nursing home for the elderly in Tokyo. He was 70.

TV personality Mikuni dies at 79

TOKYO, Japan - Photo dated March 1986 shows TV personality Ichiro Mikuni, who died Sept. 15 of a malignant lymphoma at a Tokyo hospital at the age of 79. A native of Nagoya, Mikuni entered broadcasting while working in the sales department of Asahi Breweries Ltd. He went on to become a popular emcee on TV shows of Nippon Television Network Corp. and was also known as an actor and essayist.
