The Battle of Shanghai was the first of the twenty-two major engagements fought between the National Revolutionary Army (NRA) of the Republic of China (ROC) and the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) of the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War. WITH OUR KING AND QUEEN THROUGH INDIA The royal couple visited Bombay on 2nd - 4th December 1911 and a number of official engagements were fulfilled before the spectacle of the Durbar on 12th December 1911 when they viewed 50,00 troops. More ceremonies followed and the film ends with their departure from Calcutta on 8th January 1912. The Scala Theatre, Charlotte Street, London was the London showplace for the Kinemacolor system which had a number of engagements there.

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa speaks during a news conference at a Tokyo hotel on Jan. 7, 2010, where he announced that he has been diagnosed with an early stage of esophageal cancer. The 74-year-old, who became the first Japanese national to serve as music director of the Vienna State Opera in 2002, said he will cancel all of his concert engagements from January through June for medical treatment.
