China: Mother and Daughter Rescued After Falling Into Icy Kanas River in Xinjiang

On February 10, 2026, in Xinjiang, northwestern China, a video described a mother and daughter who fell into the Kanas River while traveling in Xinjiang. The river water contained unmelted snow and felt extremely cold. According to the description, the pair accidentally slipped into the water during their outing. The icy conditions made the situation dangerous and difficult. A group of nearby people quickly stepped in to help. With coordinated effort, the rescuers pulled both individuals out of the river and brought them to safety.

TOYAMA, Japan - Fifteen tons of water gush out each second from Kurobe Dam in the upper reaches of Kurobe River on June 26 as Kansai Electric Power Co., operators of Japan's largest arched dam, started releasing water from the dam to replenish the lower reaches of the river during the dry summer season. Since 1961, Kansai Electric has turned the artificial water fall in scenic Mt. Tateyama into a sightseeing spectacle. The daily water release program will run through Oct. 15.
