LOS ANGELES, United States - A tasting event to promote Japanese beef is held in Los Angeles following decisions by Japan and the United States in December to resume imports of each other's beef products. Japan's National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations (Zen-Noh) organized the event to mark the first shipment of Japanese beef to the U.S. market since an import ban was imposed in March 2000 after an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Japan.
