G-8 foreign ministers meet press after Miyazaki meeting

MIYAZAKI, Japan - Japanese Foreign Minister Yohei Kono (R) speaks to the press July 13 following the end of a two-day meeting of Group of Eight (G-8) foreign ministers at the Seagaia resort complex in Miyazaki, southwestern Japan. The G-8 ministers issued a joint statement and a separate 16-page ''Miyazaki Initiative'' action plan on five conflict-prevention steps, such as controlling small arms and the diamond trade.
