TOKYO, Japan - A set of five woodblock prints by renowned ''ukiyoe'' artist Katsushika Hokusai is displayed at the Japan Ukiyoe Museum in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, on May 6, 2012. Experts examined the set, which is based on ghost stories, in early May, confirming it as an authentic work by Hokusai.

5 works by Higashiyama stolen from exhibition hall

GIFU, Japan - File photo is one of the five sketches and woodblock prints by Japanese artist Kaii Higashiyama which were stolen from an exhibition hall in the city of Minokamo, Gifu Prefecture. Police said Feb. 18 security guards dispatched to the exhibition site after alarms sounded found the works missing and a window on the first floor and the acrylic exhibition case both broken.
