Korean pop group Tohoshinki to suspend performances

TOKYO, Japan - Yomiuri Giants right-hander Masumi Kuwata smiles at a news conference after re-signing a single-year contract with the Japan Series champion worth an estimated 240 million yen. Kuwata, who made a dramatic comeback to the five-man rotation after being put in the mop-up role for the past few years, will also receive a bonus of 100 million yen for opting to remain with the Central League club instead of exercising his rights as free agent.
