Shikibo develops micro-print textile to prevent forgery

OSAKA, Japan - Textile maker Shikibo Ltd. said June 17 it has developed a textile (photo) onto which extremely minute images or characters can be etched with a laser to prevent forgery. ''The technology will be instrumental in blocking forgeries of brand-name clothes because it enables the etching of markings invisible to the naked eye,'' a Shikibo official said.
