Mazda said it has already received more than 5,000 advance orders for the four-door, four-seat model since beginning to take orders via its dealerships throughout Japan in January. Delivery of pre-ordered cars will be made late in April.

Mazda puts new Mazda Atenza midsize car on market

TOKYO, Japan - Mazda Motor Corp. on May 20 introduced to the market a new midsize car, the Mazda Atenza, featuring low fuel consumption and emissions. The Mazda Atenza went on sale in two models -- a five-door ''SPORT'' model, which is priced between 2 million yen and 2.3 million yen, and a four-door ''SEDAN'' model priced between 1.8 million yen and 2.36 million yen. The new model is available with a newly developed 2300-cc four-cylinder DOHC engine or a newly developed 2000-cc four-cylinder engine.

Suzuki to launch 2nd passenger car model in China

TOKYO, Japan - Handout photo shows the Ling Yang sedan which Suzuki Motor Corp. will begin assembling in China on July 1. Suzuki said it plans to assemble 6,000 units of the four-door car with a 1000 cc engine by the end of this year, and will produce 25,000 units next year. It is the second passenger car model Suzuki produces in China after the 800-cc engine Alto model.
