After being on display in world-renowned museums including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Louvre in Paris, and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the magnificent mosaic is back to Israel on show at the Shelby White and Leon Levy Mosaic Archaeological Center. The Lod Mosaic was discovered in 1996 by an Israeli archaeologist. It dates back to the Roman period -- the end of the third century or the beginning of the fourth century AD.
