Take, Sadamu Patek win Mile Championship

KYOTO, Japan - Sadamu Patek (1), ridden by Yutaka Take, gallops to victory in the Mile Championship at Kyoto Racecourse on Nov. 18, 2012. The 4-year-old Sadamu Patek, the fourth choice, won in 1 minute, 32.9 seconds over 1,600 meters for his first G1 title. Take ended a two-year Grade 1 drought as the superstar veteran won his first title at the race, to only need to win December's Asahihai Futurity Stakes to complete a career sweep of every G1 race in Japan.

FUNABASHI, Japan - Triple Crown champion Orfevre (9) gallops to victory in the Arima Kinen at Nakayama Racecourse in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo, on Dec. 25, 2011, followed by Eishin Flash and To the Glory (7), who took second and third, respectively. First choice Orfevre crossed the line in 2 minutes, 36.0 seconds over the 2,500 meters, capturing his fourth Grade 1 title.
