The naiden (inner sanctuary) of Chion-in Temple

The shumidan and zushi of the Miei-do Hall of Chion-in Temple are viewed from the southwest. The shumidan is done in Zen style, with gild and lacquer, and has a sculpture of a seated Honen (the founder). Miei-do is the main hall of the temple. Its girder and cross beams are about 20m and 16.4m in length. Reconstructed in 1639, it is built in single-story irimoya style with a tiled roof.==Date:unknown, Place:Kyoto, Photo:A.
