HERE, THE FIRST RELIQUARY OF THE HOLY CROWN OF THORNS, WITH GILDED COPPER AND GOLD GROUND, WAS MADE IN 1806 BY GOLDSMITH CHARLES CAHIER. THE WORLD GLOBE IS SURMOUNTED BY A CROSS, SUPPORTED BY THREE ANGELS. THE CROWN WAS SEALED IN THE CRYSTAL, INSERTED INTO THE BASE. TODAY, THE BASE CONTAINS A PIECE OF THE TRUE CROSS.
