Children's Party American Indian and Dutch girl

Two children make their way along a garden path to a fancy dress party in costume. The boy is dressed as a Native American Indian complete with feathered head dress and the little girl is in traditional Dutch costume complete with clogs. Both children hold balloons. Date: 1919

Wedding dress 1937

Heavy white satin wedding dress, exquisitely draped and moulded to the figure so that the line about the waist is emphasised, it has a heart-shaped neckline with fern clip at either side. The head-dress of pearly flowers is backed with tulle, and the wide veil falls to the edge of the sweeping train. 1937

An oiran (a courtesan)

Oiran is a high-class prostitute. They wore magnificent garments and competed in brilliance. Their coiffure was extravagantly done with a total of 12 ornaments and 2 combs, and a long Kogai (head dress).
