MATSUE, Japan - Photographs taken by Japanese photographer Ichiro Hori (1879-1969), including portraits of Japanese Adm. Heihachiro Togo (L front) and Japanese bacteriologist Hideyo Noguchi's wife Mary (2nd from L, front), are disclosed to the media at Matsue History Museum in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, western Japan, on Jan. 24, 2012. The photos, kept at the home of Kosaku Sano, Hori's nephew, in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, are scheduled to be exhibited at the museum from March 20, 2012.

TOKYO, Japan - Hiroji Okoso (C), president of Nippon Meat Packers Inc., says in Tokyo on Aug. 9 that two of its top executives were either directly involved in or aware of the subsidiary Nippon Food Inc.'s abuse of the state-run beef-buyback program. Okoso apologized for the fraud with Motoaki Shoji (L), senior managing director of Nippon Meat Packers, who also serves as director of Nippon Food Inc., and Heihachiro Azuma (R), vice president of Nippon Meat and president of the subsidiary.

YOKOSUKA, Japan - Some 25 Russian navy cadets on Sept. 19 inspect the Mikasa, the Japanese warship that served as the flagship during the 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War. The Mikasa, used by Imperial Japanese Navy Fleet Adm. Heihachiro Togo (1848-1934), is preserved at a park in Yokosuka, eastern Japan.
