IIYAMA, Japan - Members of a Ground Self-Defense Force unit help deal with heavy snowfall in Iiyama, Nagano Prefecture, on Jan. 7. The GSDF Matsumoto garrison sent its disaster relief unit to the city to remove snow in the country's first such mobilization this winter as the meteorological agency warned snow will continue blanketing northern to western Japan.
