A crowd of supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s regime gathered in a demonstration in a show of support for enforcement of the Islamic dressing code in the country, after recently the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei made calls for a crackdown on women that fails to comply with the hijab laws in the country. The morality police patrols have doubled down on the streets as the number of women circumventing the dress code has increased since the protest movement, which was sparked by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who died in police custody September 2022 after being arrested for allegedly breaking the country’s hijab laws.
