LOS ANGELES, United States - Former Lockheed executive Archibold Kotchian (in file photo taken in July 1972) died Dec. 14, a person from an apartment facility for elderly people in Palo Alto, California, where he lived, said Dec. 20. He was 94. He is known in Japan for his congressional testimony in February 1976 that his company had given money to foreign officials to sell Lockheed airplanes, which later led to the indictments of more than a dozen people in Japan, including former Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka, on charges of bribe-taking.
