Admiral Makarov at Constantinople

Stepan Osipovich Makarov (1848-1904) Russian admiral in command of the Pacific fleet at beginning of Russo-Japanese War (1904-5). Killed when his flagship 'Petropavlosk' struck a mine and sank in third month of the war.
