Journalist Arrested Over Report On Egypt Spy Operation Marseille

Protestors claim freedom for the journalist Ariane Lavrilleux arrested today and maintained in jail at the Police Station (called l'Eveche) in Marseille, France, on September, 19, 2023. France was accused of an "unacceptable" attack on press freedom Tuesday after a journalist was arrested for reporting on leaked documents that claimed French intelligence was used to target civilians in Egypt. Investigative website Disclose published a series of articles in November 2021 based on hundreds of secret documents. On Tuesday, journalist Ariane Lavrilleux's home was searched and she was arrested for questioning by agents of the DGSI, France's domestic intelligence agency, Disclose announced on X (formerly Twitter).
