The dog struggled in the icy water as the man repeatedly threw a lifebuoy from the shore, adjusting his aim each time. The rescue ended successfully when the dog grabbed the lifebuoy and was pulled safely onto land, shaken but alive.

Two men rescued a girl who was swept by the river in Miaowanggu Scenic Spot, Kunming, Yunnan Province on April 16. Mr. Shi, who was in a group-building activity in the scenic area with his colleagues, quickly lept into action after hearing a girl's plea for help in the river. Another colleague joined in the rescue after seeing Mr. Shi losing energy in the strong current and helped bring the girl back to shore.
