He also announced the completion of 94% of the total dredging work in the expansion and deepening project, adding that the project gives passing ships greater maneuverability. He touched on the details of some emergency navigational situations earlier, as the authority's efforts succeeded in avoiding the deviation of the giant oil tanker SUEZ ICE SUPREME. The head of the authority concluded his statement by stressing moving forward towards the completion of the southern sector development project, according to the specified timetable, without affecting the movement of ships crossing the canal.
