The accident happened near Chakwal district where both vehicles fell into the ravine after the collision, the police said in a statement. Fire erupted in the tanker and was quickly extinguished. Police said that the accident was caused by the failure of the tanker's brakes. "The vehicle's brake failure caused it to crash into the median wall on the road and then collide with the oncoming car," the statement added. According to figures released on Wednesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), 1.8 million Australians aged 15 and over were victims of card fraud in the 12 months to the end of June 2023. That figure represented 8.7 percent of the over-15 population, up from 8.1 percent in 2021-22 and 6.9 percent in 2020-21. In total, Australians who experienced card fraud lost 2.2 billion Australian dollars (1.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022-23. REINZ Chief Executive Jen Baird said on Wednesday that New Zealand house prices continue to ease but the pace of the decline is slower, and the market has settled at its new pace. He said regional median house prices have decreased across the board except for Northland, which saw an increase of 3.3 percent, and Taranaki 5.1 percent. These were the only regions to see a rise in median price. Wellington is now into its 14th consecutive month of being in the bottom two ranked regions for the year-on-year House Price Index movements.
