China: Stunning Fireball Meteor Lights Up Sky Over Maoming, Guangdong

This is the unexpected moment that a resident witnessed a rare celestial event as a brilliant fireball meteor streaked across the sky, momentarily lighting up the area as if it had been daytime. On May 28, 2025, at approximately 9:33 PM local time, in Maoming, Guangdong, the dashcam footage captured a sudden flash of light in the sky. The video showed the night sky abruptly lit up, accompanied by a loud bang, as a fireball meteor tore through the atmosphere. The Maoming Emergency Management Bureau confirmed that the event had not been caused by lightning and advised residents not to panic, as no accidents or injuries had been reported. The video ended with the fireball fading from view, and the night sky returning to darkness.

This is the rare moment that a suspected meteor streaked across the sky in Guangdong, dazzling local residents as a massive fireball suddenly lit up the darkness like daylight. On May 28, 2025, in Yangjiang, Guangdong, a loud boom was heard as a brilliant fireball, resembling a giant rock, tore through the sky and exploded in a bright flash, captured on dashcam.　The sudden blaze turned the entire night sky into near-daylight for a few seconds, and onlookers were left stunned.
