The figure was much higher than the official target of 3.0 percent set by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) but met the expectations of analysts, who projected a rate of between 8.5 percent and 9.0 percent. "The increase over the past 12 months was the largest in food prices. In one month, consumer prices increased by 1.0 percent on average," KSH said.
