Water tore through the region with alarming force, visibly inundating the riverbanks and sweeping away debris in its path. According to preliminary data, rainfall across the Nujiang River basin exceeded historical averages by more than four times. Along the Dulong River in particular, rainfall over a three-day span surpassed 300 millimeters, with some areas experiencing over 100 millimeters of downpour in just a short period. The severe flooding damaged roads, farmland, and communication infrastructure, effectively cutting off transportation to several villages. The video ended with torrents of floodwater continuing to rush downstream, leaving behind a landscape of destruction.

On July 28, 2024, in Fushun, Liaoning, a northeastern province of China, a rare and startling natural spectacle occurred—fire floating on water. As heavy rains caused river levels to rise, piles of straws that had accumulated along the riverbank were swept downstream. Remarkably, some of this debris had caught fire, and the flames continued to burn as the straws floated along the current. This unusual occurrence of fire traveling on the water's surface, without being extinguished, produced thick black smoke and presented a frightening scene. According to the filmer Ms. Lin, the straw may have been artificially ignited to prevent excessive debris from piling up in the river along with the current and causing serious consequences.

Unwavering in spirit, the bride and groom sat atop a flower-decked sedan chair, carried by staff trudging through the muddy waters. The procession, clad in traditional Chinese attire and bearing unique banners and flags, showcased an undiminished enthusiasm despite the pelting rain. According to the filmmaker, Mr. Liu, who is part of the bride-welcoming team, people walked for about 20 minutes in the torrential downpour, with the deepest part of the water being about 40cm. The bride was sitting in a sedan chair, while the groom was walking with an umbrella along with the staff. Mr. Liu added that the rain on the wedding day meant smooth sailing for the couple in the future, bringing a touch of good luck to the unexpected.
