China: Cow Appears to Have Five Legs After Hooflike Growth Forms on Head

A cow in northeastern China appeared to have five legs after a hooflike growth formed on top of its head, making the animal look unusual from certain angles. The owner said several people had offered large sums of money to buy the cow after seeing its strange appearance online.

The animal is believed to be a leucistic individual rather than an albino — leucism results in reduced pigmentation while retaining the ability to produce melanin, unlike albinism, which causes red eyes.
