According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department, Friday saw daytime temperatures in Sagaing region and eastern Shan state soaring 5 degrees Celsius above April averages. Similarly, temperatures in other regions, including Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, northern and southern Shan state, Chin state, and Kayah state, surged 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above their usual averages. The Ministry of Health issued health guidelines on Friday to address heat-related disorders as temperatures climb across the Southeast Asian nation. Local police and residents told Xinhua that due to hazardous conditions at the site, rescue efforts have been suspended in the afternoon. An official from Kayunar Rescue Organization in Hpakant township said that their team was working at the scene, and one dead body was found and four others sustained serious injuries. They halted the rescue efforts in the afternoon due to high risk associated with the site, the official added. Search and rescue operations are underway," Han Win Hlaing, a police officer from Hpakant police station, told Xinhua on Tuesday. The landslide took place at around 3:00 p.m. local time on Sunday at the jade mine near Ma Na Village in Hpakant, the center of Myanmar's jade industry, leading to the disappearance of over 30 people. The landslide took place at around 3 p.m. local time on Sunday in a jade mine near Ma Na Village in Hpakant township of Kachin State, a Hpakant township police officer told Xinhua. "Two dead bodies were retrieved. The others remained missing. There are about eight people who sustained injuries," the police officer said. Deadly landslides are frequent in Kachin state, especially in Hpakant mining region.
