On December 8, in Henan Province, central China, a video captured the moment a kitten accidentally crawled into the sleeve of a thick cotton coat. On December 23, an explosion and fire, possibly caused by a gas leak, struck a nursing home in Bristol, Pennsylvania, killing two women — a resident and an employee — and injuring 20 others. Nineteen of the injured remain hospitalized, including one in critical condition.
