Taiwan: Knife Attack and Smoke Grenades Reported Near MRT Stations in Taipei 3

A smoke grenade and knife attack was reported in central Taipei on Friday, December 19, A suspect reportedly threw smoke grenades inside Taipei Main Station in central Taipei and attacked passersby with a knife. The suspect then fled the scene, moved to the nearby Zhongshan Station, and attacked pedestrians again before entering a nearby department store. One person has been confirmed dead, and several others were injured. According to police, the suspect, who is a 27-year-old man, jumped from the department store and was taken to a hospital.
