5 Rescued After Fishing Boat Capsizes Off S. Korea's Southern Island

Members of the coast guard conduct rescue work in waters off Jeju Island in South Korea, February 12, 2025. Five people were rescued after a fishing boat with 10 people on board capsized off South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju on Wednesday, multiple media outlets said. The coast guard received a distress signal at about 7:56 p.m. local time (1056 GMT) from the 33-ton fishing vessel. A 500-ton coast guard ship was sent to the scene, finding the fishing boat overturned and rescuing five people.
