High-grade gold ore found off remote island south of Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan, Nov. 21 Kyodo - An illustration shows the location of Aogashima Island (arrow) in the Pacific. A team of researchers at the University of Tokyo said on June 2, 2016 that it discovered high-grade gold ore in 2015 in a hydrothermal deposit at an underwater volcanic crater off Aogashima Island in the Izu Island chain over 350 kilometers south of Tokyo.(Kyodo)
