China: Mobile Charger Carried By Passenger Bursts Into Flames On Bus

On March 10, 2024, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, a thrilling scene was captured on a tourist bus. A mobile charger carried by a passenger suddenly exploded and caught fire, alerting other passengers. This footage show one of the passengers kicking the device to the front of the vehicle, throwing it out through the entrance door. According to the bus driver in the video, the cause of the charger’s sudden explosion is unknown.

OSAKA, Japan - Sanyo Electric Co. unveiled on Sept. 2 a portable solar panel for use as outdoor lighting or an emergency power source. The device, 24 centimeters by 19 centimeters, is equipped with light emitting diodes on the reverse side for outdoor lighting and a USB power charger for mobile phones. When fully charged under the sun for 15 to 30 hours, the nine LEDs can light up for nine hours. The stored electricity can alternatively be used to charge a mobile phone once, Sanyo says. The retail price is set at around 16,000 yen.
