Star Explosion Reveals New Space Ingredients

Star Explosion Reveals New Space Ingredients

Handout - Scientists have spotted chlorine and potassium hiding inside the remains of a blown-up star for the first time. Using Japan’s XRISM space telescope, they found these elements inside the giant cloud of debris left behind by the supernova called Cassiopeia A. The explosion happened about 11,000 light-years from Earth, but it is still giving up new secrets today. The find shows how stars don’t just light up the sky, they also make many of the elements that help build planets and life. Even long after a star explodes, it can still teach us something new about the universe. This discovery was published in a scientific paper on December 4 this year, and the image was released on January 28, 2024, using data from NASA’s Chandra telescope along with Hubble, Webb and Spitzer. New technology applied in farming in E China

STORY: New technology applied in farming in E China DATELINE: June 17, 2022 LENGTH: 00:01:31 LOCATION: HEFEI, China CATEGORY: TECHNOLOGY SHOTLIST: 1. animation of precise seeding technology STORYLINE: Precise seeding technology is used in wheat production in east China's Anhui Province. There was a misconception that the more seeds you planted, the greater germination you would get. With the application of the new technology, farmers get higher output with fewer seeds. Furthermore, soil testing and formulated fertilization play important roles in increasing crop yield. While wheat could not grow well without chemical fertilizers, the required amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium varies from field to field. By conducting soil testing, different fertilizer formulas are customized. China has used drones to prevent Fusarium head blight, dubbed "cancer to the wheat," in an effort to ensure wheat production. Along with the application of technologies such as deep ploughing, seed coating, and diseas
