Ireland: Protesters March Through Dublin In Solidarity With Nikita Hand

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Dublin on Monday, November 25 to show support for Nikita Hand, who won a civil lawsuit against Mixed Martial Arts fighter Conor McGregor. On Friday, a jury at the High Court in Dublin determined that McGregor had assaulted Hand by raping her in a hotel in Dublin in December 2018. The protesters marched from Dublin city hall to the office of the Irish director of public prosecutions (DPP) to express their concern over the decision not to pursue a criminal case against McGregor.

Investigators leave for Manila to probe illegal waste

NARITA, Japan - Seven Japanese investigators leave Narita airport on March 27 for Manila to seek evidence for prosecutions over the illegal shipment of waste from Japan to the Philippines last year. The seven are two members of a joint squad of the Tochigi and Nagano prefectural police forces, a National Policy Agency officer and four prosecutors from the Utsunomiya District Public Prosecutors Office. They will try to confirm first-hand the unlawful shipment of waste to the Philippines last year by a waste-disposal company based in Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo.
