Japan to pull ground troops out of Iraq by end of May

SAMAWAH, Iran - Japanese ground troops are engaged in reconstruction activities in the southern Iraqi city of Samawah. Japan will withdraw its ground troops from Iraq by the end of May along with pullouts by the British and Australian forces from the area, a plan agreed to by the United States, Japanese government sources said Jan. 30.
