Videos posted on social media show the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKCR) train with five railcars on fire as it travels eastward. The locomotives came within the framework of a deal signed between Egypt and Spanish company TALGO to buy six air-conditioned trains, along with an additional one as a gift, at an amount of 157 million euros. Egypt is now testing the first train that the Transport Ministry received a few months ago. Over the past years, Egypt has worked with international companies to upgrade its rail sector and has inked deals to obtain hundreds of railcars.
