The ultramarathon kicked off at 4 a.m. local time on Saturday for those taking part in the 100-mile race. Athletes were given 36 hours at most to complete the course, which includes running along multiple lakes, through lush native bush, the towering Whakarewarewa Forest, steam alongside the trail at Sulphur Point and finishing at the Village Green by the lakeside in Rotorua. Daiei to open fashion outlet in Ginza

TOKYO, Japan - Debt-strapped supermarket chain operator Daiei Inc. will soon open a retail outlet devoted to selling fashionable clothes in Tokyo's Ginza shopping area in an effort to turn around its corporate fortunes. Daiei officials said Oct. 25 the fashion building will accommodate such brand tenants as the PAS, a casual clothes shop, the RedWoods jeans retailer (pictured), and nispicy, a marketer of apparel for women in their 20s.
