On Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Tianmen, Hubei, a Wuling new energy vehicle drove into a river near Xingxing Bridge and the Ship Lock Bridge. The sea turtle named by the rescuers as Micha was released after a two-month treatment at Israel's National Sea Turtle Rescue Center. Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service said in a statement that the 27-year-old driver sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital with cardiopulmonary resuscitation in progress. He later succumbed to fatal injuries.

The boat with 25 children onboard capsized in Tanda Dam of the district earlier in the morning, and the divers rescued 16 out of them and shifted them to a hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Kohat district Furqan Ashraf said. Ashraf said that the bodies of nine others were recovered from the dam, whereas one child breathed his last at the hospital. Talking to Xinhua, sources from a rescue organization the Edhi Foundation said that the children were students of a seminary who were visiting the dam for recreational activity. Search efforts resume in Mt. Ontake eruption

OTAKI, Japan - A Ground Self-Defense Force helicopter carrying rescue workers on Oct. 1, 2014, heads for Mt. Ontake (R back), continuing to fume since its eruption four days earlier, in central Japan. Police, firefighters and the GSDF resumed operations the same day to find survivors and retrieve bodies at the 3,067-meter volcano, after interruptions due to continued volcanic activity. The eruption has claimed dozens of victims.

Heat-proof rescue vehicle unloaded on volcanic Miyakejima

MIYAKEJIMA, Japan - A heat-proof rescue vehicle of the Tokyo Fire Department rolls out of the landing ship tank Satsuma on June 27 on the volcanic island of Miyakejima, some 180 kilometers south of Tokyo. Volcanic activity has intensified with a series of quakes since June 26 on the island. A magma eruption in shallow waters is seen as an indicator of a possible large-scale explosion there.
