Another body found in search for missing campers

YAMAKITA, Japan - A search party brings to shore the body of a woman in a boat in Lake Tanzawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Aug. 19. The body was confirmed as that of Rie Matsuo, one of nine campers swept away Aug. 14 by a rain-swollen river in Kanagawa Prefecture. The lake is about 500 meters downstream from a sandbar in the Kurokura River where the nine had been camping along with 16 other people.

YAMAKITA, Japan - A Self-Defense Forces helicopter continues its search Aug. 16 for 11 campers that went missing after being swept away Aug. 14 by a rain-swollen river in Kanagawa Prefecture. A total of 380 rescuers resumed searching in and around Lake Tanzawa, about 500 meters downstream from a sandbar in the Kurokura River where the 11 had been swept away.
