A dense fog advisory was issued for parts of the Texas Gulf Coast on Saturday, March 8, remaining in effect until the afternoon. The fog reduced visibility, creating hazardous conditions for mariners in areas like Galveston Bay, Matagorda Bay, and other coastal waters.

US: Beryl Hurtles Toward Texas Bringing Life-Threatening Storm Surge And Hurricane-Force Winds 2

Beryl strengthened to a category 1 hurricane as it hurtled toward southeastern Texas late Sunday night, July 7 ahead of its forecast landfall in the early hours of Monday. Hurricane warnings were issued for portions of the Gulf of Mexico. Forecast to bring life-threatening storm surges and heavy rainfall, Beryl is also expected to pack hurricane-force wind gust. Update: Beryl made landfall near Matagorda shortly before 4 a.m. local time on Monday.
