A sessha (sub-shrine), Wakamiya Shrine which is famous for its Onmatsuri festival, is located at southeast of Kasuga Taisha. This photo was taken at the shrine approach from the Nanmon Gate (South Gate) of Kasuga Taisha facing the northerly Wakamiya Shrine with Nanmon Gate in the background. Six standing mikos (shrine maidens) and one kneeling are seen in the approach. Two men standing on the approach to the sessha (sub-shrine), Wakamiya Shrine, from Kasuga Taisha Shrine are captured, which is the almost the same location as catalogue #4476. Since they have kyahan (leggings) around their ankles, they may be rickshawmen. This photo is the same as #4476 as the fact that this was taken facing north and making Nanmon Gate of Kasuga Taisha as background.
