Bangladesh: Large Fire Erupts at Chattogram Factory

A massive fire broke out around 2 p.m. Thursday, October 16 at the Adams Caps & Textiles Ltd factory in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone. Nineteen fire units, supported by the Navy, Air Force, Army, and police, worked for hours to control the blaze, which began in a warehouse on the sixth and seventh floors. No deaths were reported, though several workers suffered minor injuries while escaping. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
