World's Longest Expressway Tunnel - Urumqi

This photo taken on December 23, 2025 shows the exit of Tianshan Shengli Tunnel on Urumqi-Yuli Expressway in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, the world's longest expressway tunnel, and the Urumqi-Yuli Expressway that traverses the Tianshan Mountains via the tunnel, will be open to traffic by the end of this year, enabling a new shortcut linking southern and northern parts of Xinjiang. The 22.13-kilometer tunnel will reduce the time it takes to drive across the middle section of the Tianshan Mountains from several hours to about 20 minutes. Once operational, the travel time from the regional capital of Urumqi, north of the Tianshan Mountains, to Korla, south of the Tianshan Mountains, will be shortened from seven hours to about three hours. Beacon lights on wind turbines of the De Aar Wind Power Project are seen under the starry sky in De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa, Oct. 22, 2025. To bolster Africa's green development, China has assisted countries in constructing several clean energy projects. The De Aar Wind Farm has changed South Africa's energy landscape. As the first wind power project financed, constructed and operated by a Chinese company in Africa, it supplies 760 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, meeting the electricity needs of 300,000 households. The farm has contributed to closing the gap caused by unstable clean energy and addressing the electricity shortage in South Africa. Photo by Han Xu/Xinhua/ABACAPRESS.COM

China Invests In Wind Power Project - De Aar

An aerial photo taken on Oct. 22, 2025 shows wind turbines of De Aar Wind Power Project in De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa.
