Modern ukiyo-e artist refreshes old masters' works

KYOTO, Japan - Photo taken March 14, 2014 in Kyoto shows one of ukiyo-e artist Inuki Tachihara's reproductions of the seven-part series "Oatari Kyogen" (Smash Hit Farces) by Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865). Huggy pillow covers violating copyright

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows confiscated huggy pillow covers with prints of the Nekomimi Shojo (girl with cat ears) character at a Tokyo police station on Nov. 18, 2010. The Metropolitan Police Department confiscated the items and arrested Xu Xueliang, a Chinese student in Tokyo, on suspicion of copyright violation. The police suspect he bought the items from China and sold them via the Internet.
