US: Dozens Injured After Los Angeles Metro Train Collides With USC Transportation Bus

Dozens of people were injured after a collision involving a Metro E Line train and a University of Southern California shuttle bus in the Exposition Park area, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, April 30. According to the LAFD, two people were taken to the hospital with critical conditions, 16 with minor injuries, and 37 others were treated and released at the scene.

JAL, ANA, JAS open common counters at Haneda, Kansai airports

OSAKA, Japan - A ceremony marking the opening of a common counter for Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Japan Air System is held Sept. 20 at Kansai airport in Osaka. Similar counters, opened for passengers using shuttle flights between Tokyo and Osaka, were also set up at Tokyo's Haneda airport for flight reservations, ticket sales and other services. The shuttle flights were launched July 1 in an attempt to draw travelers away from Shinkansen bullet train service.

JR to run freight trains with double container loading capacity

TOKYO, Japan - Japan Freight Railway Co., the freight-carrying arm of the Japan Railway group, plans to introduce a pair of freight trains whose 9.44-meter-long containers can provide a loading capacity double that of conventional ones, company officials said June 22. The new ''Super Green Shuttle Train'' will link Tokyo and Osaka daily from next March, with one departing from Tokyo and the other from Osaka. (Kyodo)
