Volkswagen Group Japan unveils restyled Golf car

TOKYO, Japan - Volkswagen Group Japan K.K. took the wraps off the new-generation Golf car (in photo) on May 14 and said it will roll into showrooms in Japan on June 9. The Japan unit of Germany's Volkswagen AG said the model, featuring a new six-speed automatic transmission and high body rigidity, was unveiled in Germany in October 2003 as the Golf's fifth model since 1974.

NAGOYA, Japan - Volkswagen Group Japan K.K. said June 3 it will release the New Beetle Cabriolet (in handout photo), the convertible version of the New Beetle passenger car, for 3.33 million yen on June 14. Its roof automatically opens or closes in 13 seconds.
