Star of 'Kandahar' says image of Afghanistan skewed

TOKYO, Japan - A journalist who stars in ''Kandahar,'' a widely acclaimed film about Afghanistan, is concerned about the future of the devastated country and believes news and images being churned out in the Western media about it distort the facts. ''Everything begins and ends with the Taliban...That's not what Afghanistan is about,'' she said in an interview with Kyodo News in Tokyo on Dec. 22.
