China: Giant Panda Turns Into “White Bear” After Rolling in Snow

On January 21, 2024, in Xi’an, located in northwestern China’s Shaanxi province, a video captured the first snowfall of winter at the Qinling Four Treasures Science Park. Giant panda Qizai played on a slope near a tree. In the footage, Qizai rolled from the higher ground down toward the lower panda house area, turning over several times. Snowflakes stuck to its fur, gradually covering much of its body. By the time it reached the bottom, the panda looked like a round “white bear” with dark patches. The clip highlights the contrast between the thick snow, the enclosure, and the panda’s lively sliding movements.

A video from October 10, 2025, in Guizhou shows a motorcyclist knocked to the ground when a red car suddenly cut into his path. The impact sent him sliding across the road. A passing woman rushed over to help, soon joined by other pedestrians.
